January 14-16, 2005 On January 14 Mom's children and grand children started arriving for the big 80th birthday weekend extravaganza for our Mother. On Saturday, January 15 everyone met at the Ironstone Winery in Murphys, California ( Ironstone Vineyards) to celebrate Mom's 80th birthday. We started the day in the town of Murphys, an old California mining town in the gold rush country. We enjoyed sightseeing, shopping and especially the wine tasting in the frontier stores. Be sure to check out the pictures, especially the "Murphys Pokey" otherwise known as the town jail. It was actually used many years ago as an overnight holding cell before prisoners before they were transferred to the County jail located in San Andreas. Later in the day the party was held in the Heritage Room at the Ironstone Winery. There were gorgeous landscapes and great wines.
I enjoyed taking pictures, pictures and then more pictures. I took family shots with Mom of all possible combinations and everyone ate. There are so many excellent pictures here so don't miss this gallery. A fun time was enjoyed by everyone. |
