August 2006:Went white water rafting on the Middle Fork of the American River, which consisted of mostly class III and Class IV rapids. It was a two day trip that included setting up a campsite for one night. We did pretty good after taking some instruction from Caryn since they went on an extending camping trip to Australia and New Zealand - and ours was only one day. We went with a new group of friends from New York, Atlanta, and New Jersey as well as local old friends from the Bay Area. The first rapid was the tunnel chute which got us all pretty excited right at the start. These rapid photos were taken by a professional and will be coming in about three weeks but it was a wicked start of the trip. After that it got easier until the end where we almost flipped the raft. We had one person knocked out of the raft. Links Middle Fork American River Rafting 2 Day Trips Historic American River Inn, Georgetown, California |
