The Lerner's 2006 Wine Trip

The annual Robert Lerner Wine Trip was a great success. New participants this year were Tom and Kathy from Pennsylvania. We had very little rain but unfortunately just enough to cause Kuleto Estate Winery to cancel our tour there. On Sunday I did take a drive out to the estate on Highway 128 and while we could not get through the gate the drive there was gorgeous and the stop off at the David Arthur Winery was also very nice. The David Arthur Winery is located up on the hill overlooking the Napa Valley and embraces a stunning view.

The MacArthur Place Hotel was  very nice, as usual. The Darioush Winery was an outstanding surprise. The building is very unique and the Winery is owned by an Iranian from Southern California that owns about 32 Mexican grocery stores.

We visited the Rombauer Winery as an old favorite and sure enough they surprised us with some new vintages of their Zinfandel, Cabernet, and Chardonnay wines that we were previously not familiar with.

The Martini House was a great mid-day stop and we thoroughly enjoyed their food, although it took a while for them to find our table.

The trip was a great success and we were exposed to a lot of new wines.
